Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP)
Go Gators!!!

By: John Wilbanks, PharmD candidate
APha-ASP VP - Orlando Chapter

This spring semester brings numerous events from ASP. In September we will be holding our main event, Poison Prevention. During Poison Prevention students will go into local elementary schools and enlighten children on potential poisons around their home. If anyone is interested a sign up sheet will be posted at campus sometime in August.

Also occurring in October is the Tallahassee Health Fair and Legislative Days. On the first day students will conduct numerous screenings for volunteers. On the second day, students will pair up with a pharmacist and talk to legislatures about political issues relating to the field of pharmacy. The APhA National Convention will be held in Orlando this August. Students from all campuses will be an attendance. For more information click here

The last event for the semester, which is still in the making, will be a service project at a local children's hospital. Our main goal will be to brighten the patients' day through activities such as playing games and coloring in coloring books with them and their families.

I would like to thank all the members for their participation in fall, and I hope to see the same prosperity in spring. Good luck to everyone.

Which Biological Molecule Are You?

Water
You (as in me) are water. You (me) are not really organic; you're (me again) neither acidic nor basic, yet you're an acid and a base at the same time. You (me again...you get the point, click to find out what molecule YOU are) are strong willed and opinionated, but relaxed and ready to flow. So while you often seem worthless, without you, everything would just not work. People should definitely drink more of you every day. So...

For those who ordered Brand/Generic Handbooks. I apologize for it taking so long to receive them, but I have not yet received any more of the books from Gainesville. The Rho Chi President in Gainesville assures me that he will be ordering them.

International (CPFI)

By: Melissa Cruz, PharmD candidate
CPFI Liason Orlando Chapter

Petra Manguart will be our new campus liaison (Congratulations from all the members of CPFI!!!!!) with Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International. She will undoubtedly lead us through another semester of success.

CPFI meetings enable us students to learn more about God and how to apply his principles, in a casual and relaxed setting. The last meeting was held this past Saturday June 23. The topic of discussion was relating God in science and how amazing God must be to have created what we know including anatomy, physics, pharmacology, etc. Personal insight was shared and discussed.

Future topics of discussion range from improving Inner Beauty to applying Wisdom in our lives. Our next upcoming meeting will be at Tracy Michaels' house this month. May God bless everyone.
