The Politix Db8
You all should have received my email from boredom (The politix one).  If not I have it displayed below.  I have received many responses to it, some are below.  If you have an opinion you would like to share send it to me here.  Also, if anything you should check out some of the spelling that people come up with.  ANWOR (JT)?????  All responses are in original form with original spelling.
Lets see now.....
what was it, three scenarios put out in the politics lab: tpa, iraq, and the whole courts mumbo-jumbo........well tpa is out (see
what i learned at camp #3), now iraq is essentilly a gonner as well, the courts  version is easy to take out w/ a emp. denied/can't predict judges arg.  So what does that leave us w/?!?!?!?  Time to get creative w/ your own files ( i know to some of y'all it's new).  But as the what I learned at camp #3 implied, what does this say about the politics lab??? (No offense to those who were in it, you didn't make the decisions, and didn't have a crystal ball)  Is it just me or are politics labs pointless at camps?  Think about it, this happens virtually every year. couldn't we have used that lab to do something more productive (ie: more K's, cases, or better yet case negs!!!) I say it's time to critique the camp politics lab format and see if these so called 'alternatives' in the critique world are actually legitimate.

Paul T: The solution is simple, stop using the position as an activity, not just at camps, I personally have GREAT distaste for this over-generic, over-blown, over-rated position, as many of you know i have NEVER run politics in a non camp-round, and intend on keeping it that way, I say we group protest this grotesque, and often-times offensive idea, that we shouldn't pass a progressive policy for a fear of a potentially arguably negative tradoff might cause another plan to not get passed, which might lead to a situation which could possibly have the possibility of a global escalation, which of course leads to nuc war and outweighs, this borders on nihilism, if i move i might cause the end of hte world, if i dont i might too....we're all screwed.  Also, this position can serve to further the already problematic elitist nature of deb8, not only do we have to go to camps which cost $1000s to stay competitive, we need to have a large team to research every possible political angle, something which one or two people could never accomplish (my team has 4 returning memebers, severly handicapping us), and we need to have access to a highly sophisticated search engine, i.e. Lexis, which can literally cost $1000s a year, or a 30+ min car ride daily to get to a college or comprable library (and then there's those of us who live in Iowa......) In short i think that we have much alrger problems than politix at camp, i think that we should problematize the structure that is politics deb8......

JT K: Come on now elizabeth, politics is great ur gonna need it whether you like it or not....besides this time we just got unlucky but there are plenty of other scenarios out there.....ANWOR, JACKSON-VANIK, AND OTHERS.....i like politics and generally it's pretty good.....don't hate on politics.

Mark K
:  I say it's time you quit whining, and learn to cut politics.

Daniel W:
Yeah, Kramer is right. Only problem with our poltics lab is they didn't put out ANY good impacts..... other than that, they did perform an essential function in the world of debate.

Mike Bar.:
W attacks Iraq on November 10 (after mid-terms) and what are we left with?--what we're supposed to be left with: Solid Links (Uniqueness is no good a week later, also).  Granted, the links could have been a lot stronger and deeper, and stronger, and better tagged, and more specific, and better organized, and... But that's all you can really expect from a Politics lab. Impact stories change-- that's part of debate.  You can't realistically expect a summer lab to come up with a believable impact story for what W might do right or wrong so far in advance.
