Under 12 Match Report 28/4/02
Cooma came up against the strong South Tuggeranong side and were quickly behind on the scoreboard.
Half time saw the score 27 nil in favour of the visitors.
Some strong half time motivation from the coach saw a much-improved 2nd half. Good allround displays from Sam Williams, Mitchell Simpson and Andrew Boller helped the colts cause with the highlight of the game for the Cooma side a length of the field intercept from Lachlan Schofield who failed to score by a millimetres.
The boys really tried hard in the 2nd half only conceding points in the final minutes.
Man of the match points to Sam Williams, 2 points to Lachlan Schofield, 1 point to Mitchell Simpson.
We are also running a player�s player award this year with voting to remain anonymous until the end of the season
Special thanks to Daryl Baines who helped us out and gave a fine display of tackling.
Would all players please be at training at 4.00pm sharp this Friday.
Under 12 Footy Report 5/5/02
We travelled to Kippax on Sunday to take on the strong West Belconnen side at their home ground.
Prior to the kickoff players and spectators observed a minutes silence in support of team member Dale Hennessey, Thanks to all involved.
This inspired the boys who came out of the blocks full of running.
Cooma scored after 5 mins with a great solo effort from Jono Clarke who ran the length of the field to score Cooma�s first try of the season. Great to see Jono take on the defence as he does so well.
Luke Taylor converted to put Cooma ahead 5 points to nil.
Despite torrid defence by Andrew Boller, Clinton Riley and Will Woodhouse, West Belconnen hitback with a try and a goal to leave the scores at 5 all at half time.
Cooma then scored shortly after the resumption with a good offload by Mitchell Simpson to Nicholas Moon who then passed to Lachlan Schofield who then set the Cooma backs in motion for Dale Hennessey to score in the corner.
Cooma again showed their skill when they are prepared to spin the ball. More slick backline work by Mitchell Phillips, Sam Alcock and Jono Clarke saw Cooma skip to a 15-5 lead.
West Belconnen scored late in the game and Cooma recorded their first win of the season by 15 points to 10. Cooma took the field with no reserves making the victory hard earnt.
The team has welcomed both Clinton Riley and Nathan Whiteman back to the fold after a couple of seasons away and now look forward to a good season.
Man of the match went to Dale Hennessey for a great all round game, 2 points to Nicholas Moon and 1 point to Sam Williams who also made 20 tackles for the game.
Please be at training on Friday at 4.00pm sharp changed and ready to go.

19 May 2002

Cooma played host to Woden Weston expecting a tough game.
The visitors scored first after an even first 10 minutes.
Cooma�s game plan then came into play with forwards Matthew Shaw, Nathan Whiteman and Mitchell Simpson making many meters up the middle of the ruck setting the platform for the backs led by Sam Williams and Lachlan Schofield to spin the ball wide at very opportunity.
Tries by Lachlan Schofield and Jonathon Clarke and Sam Williams started to home side�s scoring. Cooma Lead by 15-5 at half time
Cooma played a very enterprising game in the second half. The boys showed what supporting the man with the ball could do. This lead to further tries to Nicholas Moon, Clint Riley, Luke Taylor and Jonathon Clarke and goals to Luke, Lachlan, Mitchell, Nicholas and Sam saw Cooma run out winners by 46 points to 13.
Congratulations to Dale Hennessey, Daniel Ardle, Ricky Brazulaitis, Sam Alcock and Andrew Boller for contributing to a great all round team effort.
Team Player award went to Clint Riley, 3 points to Lachlan Schofield, 2 to Mitchell Simpson and 1 point to Dale Hennessey. Secret Players Player votes were also collected with these results to be made public at the end of the season.
Well done boys and we now looking forward to travelling away to Canberra next week.
Under 12 Match Report

Cooma travelled to Canberra to take on the East Canberra Tigers.
From the outset it was clear that we were in for a tough morning. The Tigers were ahead by 17 nil before Cooma had settled into their pattern.
Despite strong defence by Sam Williams and fine cover defence by Jonathon Clarke Cooma trailed by 27 points to nil at half tim
The second half started much better for Cooma with more enthusiasm from the team seeing a good backline movement and some slick footwork from Mitchell Phillips enabling him to score in the corner.
Cooma again scored soon with Nicholas Moon swooping on a loose ball to send Lachlan Schofield on a length of the field sprint to score under the posts. A conversion by Luke Taylor left the final score at 35 -8 in favour of the home team.

A much better 2nd half where the score was 8 points all showed what we could do when we are switched on.

Team Player award to Mitchell Phillips, 3 points to Lachlan Schofield, 2 to Luke Taylor and 1 to Daniel Ardle.
