Coolerthanyou Productions is a loosely knit group of writers and actors hailing from West Georgia College (now the State University of West Georgia) in Carrollton GA. CTY was founded in 1996 by three friends (Sean Gilbert, Brooks Robinson, and Errol Crane) as a means to create media projects. All three worked at the campus radio station (WWGC 90.7 on your fm dial, now WUWG). The radio station was the birthplace of all of their creative efforts.
Though all three had similar interests, they had only worked together once or twice on Sean's epic radio drama "Snowden's Quest." One day early in 1996 Brooks and Errol wrote a silly little bit called "she's real purty" while working at the station. They went to visit Sean and some other friends at his other job at the campus television station (Cable 13, now UTV) and performed the sketch for them. Somebody suggested videotaping the sketch in the studio. They tried it and had so much fun they decided to pursue the opportunity to make their own show. They wrote a lot of material and managed to convince the school to let them produce and air a sketch comedy program. They called it {insert title here}. They wanted a name for the troupe so they came up with Coolerthanyou. As a production team they produced and broadcasted four episodes of the television show, another four episodes of a radio show, a short or two and wrote a screenplay.
The group is now on hiatus as the core members live far away from each other and are pursuing their own individual goals. But who knows, maybe one day there will be a new CTY project. The world can dream...

Sean Gilbert lives in Savannah GA and works as an IT professional. He runs the website DarkCrazy, has since written and published volumes of material and also sings in a band called Glamour Turquoise.
Errol Crane lives in Atlanta Georgia and plays in a band called Club Awesome.
Brooks Robinson lives in Kennesaw Georgia and works in public radio. He plays bass in a band called Belle's Wake.
Tommy Butler lives in Carrollton GA and has plays drums for a band called Huckleberry.
Russ Gnann lives in Lake Worth FL and works as a Computer Technician.
Greg Starks lives in Tucker GA and works in the marketing department of a technical school in Marietta, GA.
