The Extreme Radiocomedy Danger Hour (half hour)
CTY's second broadcasted venture was a sketch comedy show along the same lines as {insert title here} but this time on the radio. The "extreme radio comedy fighting championship" or "the ultimate radio comedy bonanza extravaganza" or "the mysterious world of radio comedy intrigue" or "the super action adventure radio comedy hour" or whatever you want to call it the radio show never had a proper title. Again, there were four complete episodes that aired and a fifth episode that was not completed until much later and never aired (our modus operandi).
Sean and Brooks were disappointed that some of their favorite written sketches were never recorded (particularly "goin to jail" written during the ith years by Sean and Errol). Access to the radio station coupled with their love for radio drama made the idea of the radio show an obvious one. All four episodes were recorded and aired in 1999. The cast of the radio show featured Sean, Brooks, and Tommy from ith but also some new faces (voices) such as Shawn Garett, Russ Gnann, Julisa Hendrix, Mark Wilson, etc As you will see if you read the scripts below the actual show lineups didn't always match up with what was intended. The show met its end when Science Fiction stole our attention from it.
In 2001 the radio show received some new attention when Brooks posted some of the sketches on the now defunct mp3.com. Brooks organized an assortment of sketches from all five episodes and compiled them into two comedy albums that were made available on the site ("the tears of a clown" and "he's right behind me isn't he?" --named after some early cartoons). The sketches received over 400 plays and some positive reviews before mp3.com abruptly ended its service. Now you can now purchase the compilation albums on cafe press."Tears" can be found here, "He's right behind me..." can be found here...
Soon we hope to make these shows available to download. We'll keep you posted.
