Journal to Japan - 7/11

June 10, 2001 Sunday (fog)

We woke up just in time for breakfast.  Again we enjoyed a nice traditional Japanese meal.  It included crab soup, squid sashimi, and a ton of other stuff, oh, and a piece of salmon.  We went to the hot spring again after breakfast.  The thing is they took all my towels that I left in the room, so I had to do w/o the lil towel.....  Dammit, stop picturing it!  After the refreshing bath, we were taken to the train station.  The weather still hasn't cleared up, so we couldn't see Mt. Fuji =(  (and we specifically got a mountain view room too!!!)

We were quite confused by the train system.  When am I not confused =P  We rode like 3 trains w/o really knowing why we are transferring.  Good thing is we  eventually ended up in Tokyo, and it's a good thing we had JR passes so it was all free.  (Rob rode for free too, the station employees kinda weren't strict at all)  My bro and I both fell asleep after we got back to the hotel.

That night Rob went to work (on a Sunday! poor Rob) and Andy went to have dinner with his friend.  That night?  I guess I wrote this a while after the actual day then, lazy me =P  My bro and I were going to check out Odaiba or Joypolis , but the hotel staff told us they were probably closed  I later visited both places =]  So we decided to go to Shibuya.  We at e dinner a t a stone bowl place.  It was pretty interesting, you sorta cook your own food in the stone bowl (the way you eat a steak on a hot plate)  Mine was a lil too spicy for my taste, but my bro's dish was really yummy.

Ooh, I almost forgot, before we went back to our hotel after our hot spring trip, we already went to Shibuya once for lunch.  We ate at a really popular rotating sushi place.  Each person was limited to 30 min of eating and a minimum of 7 dishes.  We had to wait in a really long line, but the line moved fairly quickly.  I ended up eating 15 dishes (30 sushi!!!)  The sushi is ok good cuz I had  to eat it pretty fast.  However, it was relaly cheap, each dish was only 100 yen, so I ended up only spending like $15.

After dinner, my bro and I walked around some more.  We even ate at a McDonald's, (well I wanted to get a special Japanese burger, I'm not that stupid, ok?)  We played a lot more video games (I'm going to write a special page about all the games I've seen in Japan at the end)  Nah, I'm not going to do that, cuz I realize they pretty much have all those games in US now.  Plus, I'm lazy and I've forgotten most of the games I've played since it's now 7 MONTHS after the trip.  Afterwards we headed back home around midnight.
