The Swamp at Woodfall |

The road to the swamp in the South meets you with Green and Pink Chuchus, and a tree that has made its branches a home to a pack of keese. Destroy all of the keese, climb up the ladder and you will get a piece of heart (this is easier done once you have the Hero's Bow). When you get to the actual swamp, you see that the water is pretty dangerous as it has been poisoned. You can still swim |

through the clean water, but not the purple. Swim to the little road on the left. Take the road and you will find a big magic shop. Go in and you find out that the old hag is selling potions. Talk to her some more and she tells you that Koume (her daughter) has been out in the Woods of Mystery for a very long time. Go into the woods (just to the left of the entrance to this part of the swamp) and follow the monkey until you get to Koume. She asks you for some red potion. Tell her that you have none, and run back to the Potion Shop. Kotake gives you a bottle of red potion to give to Koume. This is your first bottle, and you will be using it soon. Go back into the woods, follow the monkey, and give the potion to Koume. She tells you that she runs the boat cruise at the Tourist center (this is the building that you saw when you first came to the swamp). Go there, and she gives you a free ride and a pictograph box. You can take one picture at a time, but you can only keep one picture. This helps you get a heart here. Take the cruise, and you will notice that the Giant Octoroks are being destroyed. Get off at the Deku Palace, and you will see the monkey that asked for your help after you saved Koume. He leads you to the Deku Palace. You can only get in if you are a Deku Scrub, so put on the Deku Mask. Go talk to the King to find out what is going on. He tells you that the monkey kidnapped the princess. Go talk to the monkey and he tells you that it is a big mistake. Now go back to the hallway of the palace. |

Now, you see the monkey once again, and he gives you a hint that will help you solve this mistake. He tells you that there is a man who sells magic beans beneath the palace garden. Go to the garden on the right of the entrance of the palace. You might be better off by doing this at night. You have to sneak through the garden and find the hole where the magic bean man is. Night is easier because you can see their field of vision since they use flashlights. You get the magic beans for free. Make sure that you collect some spring water to the front of the hole.
OK. Go outside, and make a turn to the left. Turn into Deku Link and hop over the water to the lily pads. Hop until you find land and you see a soft patch of sand. Plant your magic beans here. Then water them, and the plant starts to spin. Jump on and jump off at the door opening. Turn into Deku Link and use the flowers to get to the other side of the palace where the monkey is. He tells you to try to break the rope by slashing your sword. When it doesn't work, he tells you to pull out your Deku Pipes (turn into Deku Link) and he teaches you the Sonata of Awakening. Use this song to get into the Temple in Woodfall. The notes are, C-Left, C-Up, C-Left, C-Up, A, C-Right, A.
Next, use the Deku Flower that is next to the land where you planted the Magic Beans. Glide up until you find the wisened owl. He tells you about the statues that look like him, and a song that goes with them. It is called The Song of Soaring. This song allows you to warp to owl statues that you have struck with your sword. This saves a lot of time walking on foot. Continue using the path and you will then get to where the first temple is. Make your way to the platform with the Deku circle. Tatl will point it out. Strike the owl statue next to the circle. Now stand on the circle, turn into Deku Link and play the Sonata of Awakening. Now, use the Deku Flower to launch over to the temple, and you can now explore the temple! |
