Love and Regret
Love and Regret

My life flies before my eyes,
Memories pass me by.
Though death may come in disguise,
Not a tear have I to cry.

For many see a great burden,
That fills the mind with hate.
They cannot kill what's laid before them,
For it is but the mortal fate.

I feel i'm falling down and true,
Enveloped by the water.
Going deeper still into the blue,
My breath gets thinner, slower, shorter.

There is still much I had to do,
You cannot have this dance.
I would tell you I loved you too,
If I only had the chance.

My love for you was strong you see,
If only you had known.
You told me once that you loved me,
Yet only my pride dared to be shown.

This deep wound I cannot tend,
Your heart lies with another.
But now my time is at its end,
Oh how we could have had each other!

I could not mend what i' done wrong,
It was all for the best.
Now that we cannot belong,
Your heart may be at rest.
