Evanescence

The picture above is one of Amy Lee, lead singer in Evanescence. Right now i'm actually listening to one of their songs, 'Taking Over Me'. The style they usually play is rock/emotional/almost heavy metalish in some songs. But also amy sings a couple of songs on the album that are simply of piano and accompaniament of some more sadness evoking instruments, which creates a good balance. What i love about their music is that thay have woked on it for years now, and they're songs are full of emotion. So when you listen to it, it's not so much of a sub-concious type of thing, you can actually hear the feelings communicating through the music. It's a perfect cd for when you're emotions are on a bit of a high, and you might find that some of the songs actually relate to you in a way which  probably is another reason why i like it. Don't get me wrong, this is definitely not music just for angry rocker teens, that is a stupid stereotype that evanescence sohuldn't be labeled with. Two other of my favourite songs at the moment would be 'Bring Me to Life' that has now been no.1 on a few music charts over the world, but my personal favourite at the moment would have to be their newly realeased song 'Going Under' from their cd Fallen. You know artists that completely digitally alter their voice to make it sound good? That really pisses me off, but Amy Lee actually has a good voice, that probably is only decently altered for cd sale. After hearng her live performance on rove live, i'm glad to see that she really does have a good voice, and that she isn't another of those singers who get into the music business because of the people they know. I also admire musicians who write their own songs, because it's more real and a show of real talent. Evanescence really is a talented band, and i'm releived that they are, and don't realy on sex appeal to sell thier records.
