During this year you will study the following topics: Chemistry- a brief review of atoms and compounds while adding new concepts of how these relate to living organismsCells- an in depth study of both plant and animal cell parts Photosynthesis- how plants are able to make their own food while at the same time producing the oxygen we need to breathe Respiration- the process of breaking down food, using oxygen, to release its' stored energy Genetics- how DNA controls all cells and gives each of us our distinctive characteristics Kingdoms- the 6 kingdom classification system for all living organisms
