| This picture was taken sometime in the late 50's and shows a vast improvement in the way that potatoes were
harvested out on the farm - the workers actually got to stand in one place and sort while the tractor pulled the digger and dumped the spuds into sacks. They were then
stacked on the back of the truck and taken to the potato cellar. Much easier than picking up potatoes from the ground and sacking them yourself. The 6x6 proabably
even had to go in 2nd gear just to keep up. (Papa is stacking the sacks) |
