| who? CONNECT is a Christian based Bible study group that is focused on discovery and living the life that God has purposed for us to have. We are wrestling out our own identity in this world, through our Faith, and finding ultimate meaning by asking real questions about life. We are committed to reaching both friends and family with our personal story of what God is doing. We believe that story to be dynamic and life changing and ongoing. If you are seeking deeper understanding, interested in finding Jesus on your own terms, and looking for connection with people, join us as we live out our understanding of what it means to truly be Christian. |

QUOTE FOR THE MONTH: "Where am I actively serving someone now?" |
| think. Over the next few weeks, our study of Mark is going to challenge us with the teachings of Jesus and the idea of what it means to be a person of service. Mark's Gospel depicts Jesus ans the true Son of God, who came to serve rather that rule. Jesus described the Kingdom of God as a radical place, an upside down Kingdom. A place where "I" doesn't come first, but "You". A place where the poor get the best of seats and the well off are given the balcony. It's a place where riches are measured by humbleness and strength is measured by meekness. Jesus said this is a place that does exist, but not in some remote distant place, but within-around-and among us all. Small glimpses are caught each time we prefer another over ourselves. Each time we show love to a neighbor. In every smile. In every act of kindness. In every gesture of frienship. How does this kind of a Kingdom ever come? It is something that only comes to those who look for it, seek it out, and long to find it. What are you looking for? What kind of world are you creating? What Kingdom do you live in? |
