    VAKA (MAIN HULL) LAMINATE UTILZING TRIAXIAL E GLASS WITH VINYLESTER RESIN AND � BALTEK END GRAIN BALSA CORE. AMAS INCLUDE � BALSA END GRAIN CORE. VAKA AND AMA DECKS HAVE 5/8 TORMANTO FOAM. INTERIOR LINER HAS 3/8 TORMANTO Foam CORE. GRP CROSSBEAMS.

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
    HIGH FLYER IS AN EXCITING RACER/CRUISER THAT HANDLES LIKE A PLANING DINGHY, BUT GOES THROUGH OFF-SHORE CONDITIONS WITH EASE. IF YOU LIKE SLOW SAILING, THIS BOAT IS NOT FOR YOU. BUT IF YOU LIKE SAILING PAST ALMOST EVERY OTHER SAILBOAT MADE; IF YOU WANT TO RACE BUT ALSO WANT TO CRUISE, YOU�LL LOVE THIS BOAT.

    SHE IS EXTREMELY STABLE, HAS WITHSTOOD HURRICANE CONDITIONS WITH EASE. WE�VE CRUISED COMFORTABLY WITH OUR TWO SONS, WHO LOVED RIDING IN THE BOW WHEN WE WERE GOING 15 KNOTS, AND LOVED PLAYING ON THE WIDE TRAMPS, OR DIVING FROM THE ACKAS.

    HIGH FLYER WAS BUILT FOR THE OSTAR RACE, BUT NEVER ENTERED. But she proved herself in other races, AND HAS BEATEN BOATS SUCH AS SUBURBAN PROPANE. SHE TOOK FIRST ON CORRECTED TIME IN THE 199O VINEYARD RACE--MULTIHULL DIVISION. SHE HAd A NEMA RATING OF 68 (JUST ABOVE F27 WITH BOW SPRIT) FOR THE 2000 SEASON. HOWEVER, SHE HASN�T BEEN RACED IN ANY OFFSHORE/LONG DISTANCE RACES FOR THE PAST FIVE YEARS. SHE HAS ONLY BEEN USED FOR DAY SAILING AND LOCAL CRUISING IN LONG ISAND SOUND AND SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND.

    HIGH FLYER NEEDS SOME REFURBISHING AND COSMETICS. FOR THAT REASON, AND OUR RECENT PURCHASE OF AN ATLANTIC 46 CAT, HIGH FLYER IS PRICED $10,000 TO $20,000 BELOW ALL OTHER CONDOR 40�S ON THE MARKET IN 2002.

  • 1)THE EXIT PLATE ON DAGGER BOARD NEEDS TO BE RE ATTACHED.
  • 2) BOTTOM PAINT SHOULD BE RE-DONE. WHEN HAULED AT THE END OF THE 2002 SEASON
  • 3) THE CABIN CANVAS STORAGE SYSTEM HAS BEEN REMOVED AND NOT REPLACED. IT COULD BE DUPLICATED FOR A COST OF ABOUT $5OO.00 HOWEVER THERE ARE OTHER SOLUTIONS WHICH YOU COULD CONSIDER.
  • 4) THE HULL COLOR HAS FADED ( SEE PHOTOS) THERE ARE SEVERAL CHOICES: RE-DO GEL COAT ANY COLOR YOU WANT (EST. COST: $5,000. to $10,000); AWL GRIP, FOR LESS; OR BUFF OUT WHEN SHE NEEDA IT; OR LIVE WITH IT AS WE HAVE.
  • 5) THE NEW MAST HAS A SCREACHER HALYARD BUT A SHOTGUN HAS NOT BEEN BUILT TO MOUNT THE SAIL FORWARD.
  • 6) THE COMBI SAT NAV HAS A BROKEN ANTENNA, AS THIS SYSTEM IS SOON TO BE DROPPED IT HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED.

  • 5) THERE IS A HINGED SEAT BACK INSTALLED IN THE PORT DOUBLE BUNK TO PROVEDE A SITTING AREA WITH BACK SUPPORT THE LATCH TO HOLD IT IS NOT INSTALLED.
