| When the bloom is on the meadow And the days are growin' longer There's a feelin' in my heart that Somehow keeps a growin' stronger For a land I've never seen; but, Have heard of most all of my life. 'Tis that dear emerald of the sea Where my great grandpa wed his wife. Here upon the sea beside her In a boat one day in the spring Came a baby into this world 'Twas my grandpa the stork did bring. Now to those of you who know me I'm sure that this is no surprise. You think the Blarney Stone kist' me. 'Tis merely tales but never lies. So when 'ere you see a rainbow Do search and find its' pot of gold. If you chance to spy a shamrock Do place it on your heart and hold; And, make a wish for none can tell A Leprechaun may just be near Lingering among the shamrocks To grant a wish that he might hear. When time for wearin' of the green Comes passing by to cast its' spell Wear the Emerald green of Ireland. Wear it with heart and wear it well. If by chance you should be thinking Of that dear land upon the sea, Just throw a kiss upon the air Then clap three times and think of me. A bit of magic in the air Will send that kiss to me from you. Then I'll think of you and Ireland The moment that kiss is in view! |
