| Legend Of the Christmas Angel ~~~~~~~ Once upon a bright Christmas Day A little Angel knelt to pray. She prayed that peace as well as love Would fall from every star above, And greatly rain upon the Earth One night, that of our Saviors birth. But little Angel did not know, In those days of long, long ago, How very, very, very far It was to every little star. When nothing happened by and by A tear fell from her little eye. Then Angel mother came and said, "Time little Angels were in bed. Oh, my dear, why do you cry so? Angels should be happy, you know." Little Angel explained her plight, What she had prayed for Christmas night. No peace and no love ever came. The stars still twinkled just the same. Little Angel said, "It's not true That God will grant a prayer for you If the prayer is all very pure Then God will grant your prayer for sure." Now older Angels as they are Know of the distance to a star. Mother Angel said, "You must wait For your wish was so very great. Love and peace are there in each star But the twinkle must come so far. I do not know how long, I fear Until that twinkle reaches here, With its' load of peace and with love. Carefully sown by God above Timed to arrive on Christmas Night. Only Heaven knows which year is right. But, Angels prayers on Christmas Day God always answers right away." Just how fast does a twinkle fly? How long to cross Heaven's great sky? Angel watches each Christmas night Waiting for the time to be right. She's known as Christmas Angel now, To wait for the right night, her vow.
