The following are the advance curves for the carburetted VH and the EFI VK commodore distributors, in light of people having pinging troubles after doing the EFI conversion.
- Base Timing: 12 Degrees BTDC
- 1200 rpm - from -1 to 3 degrees from Base Timing
- 2400 rpm - from 9.5 to 13.5 degrees from Base Timing
- 5000+ rpm - from 16 to 20 degrees from Base Timing
- Base Timing: 6 Degrees BTDC
- 1200 rpm - from -2 to 2 degrees from Base Timing
- 2000 rpm - from 14 to 18 degrees from Base Timing
- 4400 rpm - from 23 to 27 degrees from Base Timing

VK EFI Vacuum:
- 17kPa - 0 degrees from Base Timing
- 34kPa - 13 +/- 2 degrees from Base Timing
VH Carburetted Vacuum:
3 Types (Based on the colour of the "6" on the vacuum canister body)
Type 1: BLUE
- 17kPa +/-3kPa - 0 degrees from Base Timing
- 47kPa - 21 +/- 2 degrees from Base Timing
Type 2: RED
- 17kPa +/-3kPa - 0 degrees from Base Timing
- 44kPa - 18 +/- 2 degrees from Base Timing
Type 3: GREEN
- 17kPa +/-3kPa - 0 degrees from Base Timing
- 37kPa - 13 +/- 2 degrees from Base Timing
