The 5 Saints West, a pastoral planning group of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rochester, New York, consists of

St. Columba - St. Patrick in Caledonia
St. Vincent de Paul in Churchville
St. Mary of the Assumption in Scottsville
St. Christopher in North Chili

Our four parishes are exploring the establishment of a small, 2-bed, comfort care home for the dying in St. Mary�s rectory or the old St. Patrick Church. On the last weekend in June, 2008, a survey was distributed to parishioners at Mass in each of our parishes to ascertain if we had the support for this joint ministry effort. 543 surveys were completed: 420 said �Yes,� 100 said �Unsure� and 23 said �No.� Most who completed the survey offered to volunteer in some capacity if the ministry is launched. The number of positive responses encouraged the core committee to continue exploring; they are researching similar facilities, considering possible design layouts, and compiling a list of services and personnel that would be needed. We give our grateful thanks to all those who have thoughtfully responded to these surveys.
