(West view): This is the Flight Data Input/Output (FDIO) System. This system provides us with all IFR flight progress strips including arrivals and departure clearances and some VFR flight strips. We can view a copy of the strip on the computer screen and receive a hardcopy strip from the thermal printer sitting in back of the binoculars. Strips are posted in the strip bay to the right of the thermal printer. |

(West view): This is one of three frequency panels in the tower. From left: Ground Control; Tower Control; Mizzou Approach Control (we can monitor their freq; and our military UHF freq. |

(West view): This is the Tower Controller position. On the top portion of the picture is the frequency panel as shown in the pic above. The orange numbered item is the "Zulu" clock. The red placard (placed over flight strips) is used to remind the controller of a vehicle or personnel on the runway. |
(North view): This is known as a Runway Incursion Device (RID). It works along with the red placard in the pic to the left. When a vehicle/personnel are on the runway, you select one of the white buttons. By doing this, you get a flashing red light that serves as a visual alarm. Also, when the controller keys his microphone, an automated voice warns to "Check runway". |

(West view): This is the Runway/Taxiway Lighting Panel. Simply the panel we use to activate/adjust the intensities of runway/taxiway lights. The rotating beacon and pilot-operated approach lighting are also activated here. The numbers are magnets used with the red placard in the pic above to keep track of the various airport vehicles. |
(West view): This is the PET-2000 Backup Transceiver. If we lose our regular radios, we use this orange battery-operated radio to work traffic. |

| (West view): The numbers and buttons at the top portion of this picture is a traffic counter. We keep track of all air operations that occur here and send the FAA monthly traffic count reports. Just below the traffic counter is our "Ground Stop/Delay Board". We get info on airport delays from the FDIO (strip at bottom of pic) and transfer it to this board for quick reference. |
