A finalist for the Calder Memorial Trophy, Kariya set the Mighty Ducks rookie points record with 39 ... Led the Mighty Ducks in points, goals, shots, power play goals and games played ... Tied for the team lead in assists, short-handed goals and game-tying goals ... Ranked second in rookie scoring, first in rookie goals, second in rookie assists, second in rookie power play goals and first in rookie shots ... Recorded the longest rookie scoring streak of the year (eight games between March 7-23) ... Set the Anaheim record for most multiple point games in one season with 12 (Bob Corkum had 11 in 1993-94) ... Scored his first NHL goal on Jan. 21 at Winnipeg ... His four penalty minutes ranked second to only Teemu Selanne, Johan Garpenlov and Nathan LaFayette (who each had two) among players who played in 28 or more games ... Missed one game due to a sore back on Feb. 12 at Edmonton.

Selected by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the first round (fourth pick overall) of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft ... Netted 10 goals with 38 assists in 31 contests with Team Canada ... His seven points in eight Olympic games paced Team Canada ... His game-winning goal against the Czech Republic helped Canada earn an Olympic semifinal bid against Finland ... Won the silver medal during the Winter Olympics ... His 12 points (five goals and seven assists) led Team Canada at the World Championships ... Registered a hat trick in Canada's victory over Austria April 26 ... Made the All-Star team and was selected the top forward of the tournament ... Tallied 24 points in 12 games at the University of Maine.
