Breaking of the Glass Breaking a glass at the end of a wedding ceremony is traditional for Jewish ceremonies, as well as from other cultures. It symbolizes the permanence and finality of the act of marriage. Similar traditions in other cultures believe the number of the broken pieces equal the number of years the couple will live in happiness together.

Family unity ceremony This ceremony is perfect for couples who already have children together or who are remarrying and want to include their children in their wedding ceremony. This is a great gesture which shows that your children are an important part of your family and receive your commitment as your new family becomes one.

Handfasting This is an ancient Celtic tradition and is where the phrase “Tie the Knot” was coined. The couple’s hands are loosely bound together with ribbons or cords symbolizing two lives coming together as one. The knot in the cords symbolizes a bind that cannot be broken. Vows exchanged.

Honoring the Parent(s) A brief reading is done by the bride and/or groom to thank or honor their parent(s). Parent(s) are presented with a small gift by the bride and/or groom when the wedding ceremony begins.
