Here we are, in all of our glory!! We'll try to add new photographs as they become available.

Our Muster Master, Thomas Callaway, goes over the daily activities with his Lieutenant and one of the colonists.

Taking some time to go over a few of the documents on display at Farthing's Ordinary during a muster.

Living history is not just for men. The St. Marie's Citty Militia is popular with the wives of our "citizen-soldiers" as well.

The Seventeenth Century in Needle Arts, Painting, Furniture, and more
The century was filled with color, life, style! As can be plainly seen in some of the needlework and artwork of the period. Below are a few examples of what we mean:
A glorious depiction of life in the 17th century by period artist, Vermeer.
The artist masterfully captured the beauty in the simply daily activities of a milkmaid.
And who doesn't appreciate the way the artist brought the men of the city's "Night Watch" to life with his brush strokes?
But, it wasn't only the artists of the period who brought color and style to life. The women of the 17th century were equally skilled in their ability to add dimension to the otherwise grim day to day activities with their needlework. Here are two very beautiful examples of Jacobean period needlework:
The "Bird of Paradise" pattern
and a dragonfly
All brought to glorious life through needle and thread.
