| We were sooooo close!!! |
| So close, yet so far. Outclassed by a revolutionary Brisbane outfit, the Pies performed brilliantly in the wet, only to have the Premiership taken away by a mere 9 points. The closest grandfinal ever. Collingwood were not given a chance, but proved the critics wrong by playing with courage and determination. Humiliatingly, Nathan Buckley was awarded the Norm Smith Medal, and performed just as a captain should. Despite this, Collingwood have performed their best football in 12 years. They are still a very young side and will shake up the competition in 2003. |
