Squid took over as manager from Simon Roberts in November 2002 following Robbo's decision to retire due to personal reasons.
Since Squid took the official reigns the club has enjoyed a more consisitent run in both League and Cup football.
Last season he lead the Tree to Sixfields for the Division 4 Cup where they were unfortunate to lose 3-2.
Newman lists his favourite Collingtree Player as Peter Basham, but insisted that this favouritism does not effect his team selection.
This summer Newman has been busy in the transfer market and is looking forward to a successful season and a long era at the club.
