My Pre-Op Journal.....
Okie Dokie, I took a picture this weekend and have posted it!! I want to include family photos too, but need to figure out how to make them smaller. They are coming up so large (too large for here), so I have to re-size them and place them on my site. I'm really enjoying learning how to do this site. I have NO clue what I'm doing, I'm learning as I'm going, asking questions, when I have to, but it's a lot of fun. WIsh I could fool around with fonts, etc. but I love the Pat's Graphics that I am using, and think it's fabu that she lets people use them for FREE if it's for personal use, Thanks Pat! We got a scanner this weekend and I plan on playing around with old family photos..Just need some time to do all the "fun" stuff in life...

Nothing new to report, I have calls into the Doctor's office asking about my insurance paperwork, but no calls back yet. Hopefully, I will be hearing soon, with regard to MY APPROVAL!! I have been playing with my web page a lot, I got a scanner and scanning some pictures, etc. It's fun. Finally my back pillow for this uncomfortable desk chair arrived today, so I'm sitting here in comfort right now. WOW, what a difference a pillow makes!!
Something totally off the topic.....Is anyone else watching The Amazing Race on CBS? We are and loving it. It is the best show. Every week I watch it, my heart is pounding and it's so exciting. We are hoping anyone but the Guido's win...Sheesh, I can't STAND THEM!!!!!!!!!!!! I love Kevin and Drew, they are my favs!!!
*****UPDATE******* Oh, follow-up, Joanne just called me, said I should call her next week for a status on being approved. She said she was in the middle of doing the November surgeries, so she will be moving onto the December ones shortly. I indicated to her that I am not telling work about the surgery until I'm approved and said to call next week....Phew..can't wait to hear and start the ball rolling....with work and get everything in order...WOO HOO before you know it, December will be here and I'll be rollin' into surgery!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing new to report. I thought I had an earlier surgery date to report, however, that was a mistake and I'm still on for 12/11/01. Oh well, I had my hopes up it would be 11/28, but that is not to be. Had a nice day today, weather in NJ was 73 degrees...so very nice for November...shocker, really!!
November 5, 2001 (Monday) -
Well, I'll be calling tomorrow morning to see if I've been approved for surgery. I hope that I am!!! Nothing new to report, just counting the days, looking on the web to see what I need to purchase before surgery to get ready. Looks like my hospital doesn't allow normal PJs there, so I'll be Ms. Hospital Gown for the few days I'm there. I plan on bringing my ChapStick and my slippers and my tooth brush and toothpaste, and I should be set. When I'm not feeling well, I don't read, I don't watch TV, I put all my energy into being SICK!! (lol) so I will be going "light" to the hospital!! lol.. Jeez, I wish my surgery was tomorrow..I am SOOOOO ready! The fact that this surgery is only a few weeks prior to Christmas is making me be ready early (I guess that's a good thing). So I'm planning on doing my shopping in the next few weekends, prior to Thanksgiving, and I'll be ready. Hey, maybe I'll make this a regular thing, be ready for Christmas early, Hmmmm have to think about that....I'm usually wrapping last minute. The kids have been alerted to start their lists and then we know early what's needed....Oh to be ready early.....what a thought..... Oh well, I will update again tomorrow if there is something to report....Oh please please please let there be something to report......

Well, nothing new to report. Called the surgeon's office today to inquire about my insurance and still no information :'(. They are waiting for a nurse to call them back from the insurance company. So I will call again on Thursday or Friday. I have not informed work yet that I will be going out for surgery, so I'd like to be approved, No. 1) to ensure that I am INDEED having the surgery and No. 2) that I can tell work when I will be out. I already am preparing, work wise, so it won't be too bad when I leave. December is usually not a really busy busy month, but watch this year, all hell will break loose and I'll feel so guilty about not being there to assist....Sheesh, what a guilty conscience I always have....well, this time I have to be selfish and take time off and get myself well after my surgery and not worry about work...Oh well, till next time...
