Introduction
Cold War (1945-1991)
The Cold War is an event that was brutal and lasted since 1945 till 1991. Threw those many years and events there was communism and power many people held against each other. After World War II communism and the silence of USSR countries grew suspicions and blame on the Soviet Unions because of their silence of maybe trying to conquer areas to gain more power. This was called the "Iron Curtain" were the Soviet Unions were silence from The Allies, as well as America. America grew suspicious and threat USSR with Nuclear warheads as well as weapons of mass destruction. Already the United States and USSR were in the midst of carving up the former Axis territories when the first atomic bombs were tested in New Mexico, then used on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Thus, the Nuclear Age and the nuclear arms race that fueled the Cold War began together. Tensions during the Cold War sparked many critical situations including the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis when the USSR placed nuclear weapons 90 miles off the coast of Florida in Cuba. Thirteen days of teetering on the brink of nuclear war ended with a secret agreement in which the Soviets consented to take their missiles out of Cuba and the United States promised to remove their missiles from Turkey six months later. The Cold War was not necessarily a war, but a bridge of war that could lead to the mass destruction of the world. (Many people are not sure when the Cold War actually started but, the conflict between United States and Soviet Union around 1945 probably started the Cold War).
