Trip to Baltimore/Washington
Pauline had a conference to attend in Washington, DC so we decided to make a week of it and visit Pauline's parents and other friends in the area.  We flew into Baltimore's airport and went to the aquarium to start the week off with a splash.
Alex watching a fish swim by.
Alex spent a couple of days at her friend Grant's house (her first sleepover) but later rejoined Dad and Colby to visit some of the DC museums.  Dad decided to drag them to some art museums this time around and they seemed to do pretty well, especially liking the sculptures and fountains (Colby's favorites).
It was quite hot the entire time we were there (90 degrees and higher) but the kids did not melt down too often.  At times, however, Dad's insistence of getting another picture really pushed their limits (see example at National Zoo with their grandparents).
Alexandra liked watching the man make noodles almost as much as she liked eating them while in Washington's China town.  We concluded our visit with a tour of the Genomics Exhibit at the Smithsonian (and no, my legs are not actually THAT short)
