The college awards the degree of M.B.Ch.B. to its undergraduate students upon fulfillment of their studies. This degree is equivalent to (M.D.) degree.
Appropriate departments also provide facilities for giving degrees of M.Sc. and Ph.D. in anatomy, histology and embryology, physiology, Biochemistry, medical chemistry, histopathology, cytology, hematology, forensic medicine, community medicine, pharmacology, medical microbiology, parasitology, bacteriology, immunology, and virology.
The College of medicine / AL-Nahrain University is affiliated now to the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research �IRAQ.
Prior to this, it was designated as:
Saddam College of Medicine (1987-1993): as an independent college of medicine.
Saddam College of Medicine (1993-2003): affiliated to Saddam University.
Iraqi College of Medicine (2003): affiliated to AL-Nahrain University.
College of Medicine / Al-Nahrain University (2004- ): affiliated to the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research.
