I will begin by calling the woman Ms X and the man Mr Y. I am telling this story mainly from the woman's point of view.
Ms x had a life before finding God. In this life she had made many mistakes. Her partner was one of them! (amongst other things). She had a family by this partner. They eventually split up because of circumstances beyond her control. She decided that she would bring her family up single-handed. The couple had been apart one year, when Ms X found God in her life. It was the best thing that had happened to her in her entire life. She had a new beginning. A new life. She wanted to do things the "right way", this time. So, she spent alot of time with God. She wanted to do things God's way. She had lived her life the way she wanted to for too long. God, had plans for her life! While seeking God , He revealed to her that He had someone for her. So, she believed with all her heart that when the right one would come along that she would KNOW! She was happy and content living her life for God. But, of course there were times when she thought that it would be nice to meet someone to share her faith with, and just be there to encourage her. But, she decided to wait before God....................and wait...............and wait!! When God had revealed to her regarding the person for her, she had already been on her own for 2 years - since giving her life to Him. She knew that God knew what was best for her. She was willing to leave that to God - after all she had learned to Trust God. So, she waited, and waited. Of course, there were times when she cried before God. She thought that this was unfair! There were ocassions when she had went to a different fellowship, on a week day. She thought that maybe this would be the avenue that God would use. Just maybe the person for her would be here! But No!! God had other plans. The problem was that since becoming a Christian she didn't go anywhere, but church, church, and more church. How was God going to do this - she thought! How was He going to bring this about? There was no-one in her own church that had really caught her eye. But, she couldn't do anything else but wait. The years began to pass (quite quickly) she thought. In the meantime she had plenty to keep her busy. She had returned to College to gain qualifications to return to the work place after being out of work for a long time, due to raising a family. God had placed it on her heart to become a Teacher. So, this was the road she took. College, kept her quite busy. Homeworks, housework, church activities, children all kept her pre-occupied - to say the least. She eventually started to apply for jobs to tide her over in the meantime (waiting until she graduated as a teacher)! She had the qualifications to be a PA or Administrator, so these were the jobs which she applied for. But, unfortunately she was in a situation were she had the qualifications but no experience. She went to an agency, and got her first job working as a Personal Secretary. She loved it! Her own office. This was the kind of work that she enjoyed. However, it was only temporary. Eventually this job had to come to an end. She liked the idea of being her own boss. One day she had an idea! She decided to do a little bit of market research regarding this idea. She had access to a computer in her own home. The Internet seemed to be a great source of information. So, she signed up for an Internet Service Provider, and was now able to find out about this idea that she had. She was told soon after logging onto the Internet that there was chat rooms within the vast range of web pages available on the Internet. Out of curiosity she thought the she would "try it out". It sounded interesting. She explored the 'how to'. Not very long after this she was having her first conversation 'on-line'. She had entered a Christian site. Within this site was listed people who were on-line, and most of them had a profile. For those who don't know a profile is a short account of the person, their likes - dislikes, etc. The person that she was talking to was Mr Y! Mr Y was talking about some problems he was having at the moment, and Ms X being the caring Christian, felt the need to encourage him. She felt a bond being established with Mr Y. She liked this. It was something new - different. She liked the idea of being able to encourage others. She soon made other friends on-line, that she would have talked to on a regular basis. Mr Y and herself met on-line the next night again and talked until the "early hours". The next night they met again. Ms X suddenly felt that Mr Y was 'the one for her'. This was strange as she didn't know anything about him. This was totally out of her character. The only thing that Ms X had to go on was the leading of the Holy Spirit. Ms X told Mr Y how she had felt. He said that he had felt the same way. He asked her did she have a bible handy. She said that she had. He asked her to seek God for an answer from His word. So, before asking God to reveal something in His word, she prayed earnestly. The presence of the Lord that she felt that night was awesome! She knew God's leading in her life. There was no mistaking it this time either. She knew that if you came to God seeking Him with your whole heart that you would find Him. After all that is one of God's promises. God led her to read a scripture. She could hardly believe it! God was revealing through His word His plan. They knew after this that this was of God. They had to meet. If this was God's will He would open the door. This was what Ms X prayed - Lord if this is not your will close the door. She knew that if she asked God - that whatever His will was, it would be done. The only thing that Ms X had to go by was the leading of the Lord. God opened every door! They met. They knew that they were meant to be. On their last day together they prayed that God would lead and guide them, as to what to do. Since then God has led. He has revealed His plan (not completely - of course). But has revealed scriptures through His word regarding their future together. God truly works in mysterious ways. Mr Y lives in America and Ms X lives in Northern Ireland! The ending of this story is that both Ms X and Mr Y know that they are meant for each other. God brought them together! How do I know that this is a true story?? Well, <<<<<<<<<<whispers>>>>>>>>>>>> I am Ms X!! God is good. He knows what He is doing - even if we don't know or understand. The scripture that God gave us was Colossians 2 Verse 2!!
