Obviously, as you read in the previous page, we both knew that we were meant to be together. God had given too many miracles to dismiss it!!
The point was when! He lives in America and I live in Northern Ireland. How was God going to sort that one out! God obviously brought us together, enabled us to meet. Now, God had to let us know when we were to be together for good......................................
Before I left America to come home - I suggested to Michael that we might pray together, and leave the matter in God's hands. That is exactly what we did. We were now waiting to see what would happen. We rang each other over the next few weeks on a constant basis, practically every night. (We have cut down now)!! One night when Michael had rung he was telling me about different trials that he was going through. In the conversation he happened to ask "What the procedures were in coming to Northern Ireland". He continued by saying that it would be easier for him to come here, than it would for me to go there. I had already thought about that - and I thought the exact same thing!! However, I was not comfortable with it. I felt a compulsion to tell Michael not to do anything hastily. Because of the trials that he was facing at the time, it seemed a good idea to run away from them. We all think of running away when things get tough, so it is understandable. So I rang him the next morning and told him what I had been thinking about. I told him to leave it in God's hands. After I came off the phone, I went upstairs to my bedroom. I lay on the bed and I put two questions to God. They were:
1. When are Michael and I to be married
2. Where are we going to live - here or America?
I was led to read Job 16, it was verse 22 that spoke to me and it was this:-
When a few years are come, then I will go the way whence I shall not return. So, therefore, I concluded through reading the scripture that a few years were 3 and I will not be living here. God did not specify that I will be going to America - but He did say that I will go to a place and not return back here! I told Michael what God had led me too and he wasn't happy about that. "3 YEARS SONYA" is what he said (in an unbelievable tone). I said, "Michael if this is from God He will confirm it to you - you seek Him and see what He gives you". I got a phone call from Michael the next day. He said, "Sonya, this is what God gave me - Daniel 1:5 (3Years), and also He led me to read Leviticus 23:34" He continued, "Something is going to happen on the 15th day of the 7th month, I don't know what year, but I feel that this is something that we have got to look out for". Then we ended the conversation. I went up to read the whole verse of both scriptures. I read Dan1:5 first, (it was the second part of the scripture that spoke to me) so nourishing them 3 years that at the end thereof they might stand before the King. So God was saying that He was going to (train, encourage, teach) us for 3 years that at the end of the 3 years that we will stand before Him on our wedding day! As for the second scripture!!! Lev"23:34:- The fifteenth day of the seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days onto the Lord. Well! I nearly dropped!! God had given Michael the date for our wedding. So that is it. The wedding date is 15th July 2003. In the meantime - we are waiting before God to see when the next time we will be able to meet again. If it is God's will we will hopefully see each other at Christmas time. We are both depending on God, financially, spiritually, emotionally and physically. We both know that God knows what is best for us. If we done it our own way - it more than likely wouldn't work out. |
