              The Marvellous Act of Becoming "Born Again."

A religious leader of the day said to Jesus, "We know you have come from God.. because you do miracles."

    Jesus knew the man was thinking about God's kingdom, so He replied, "No one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again."

   This statement really amazed the man, named Nicodemus. He asked the obvious question, "Can a man enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born?" But note that he took Jesus seriously.

   Simply put, Jesus now told Nicodemus that he had to be born "of the Spirit." That may be mysterious to us, but a few verses later Jesus makes a fuller statement about God's awesome plan for salvation, and indicates the human part in it, the part we have to play in this truely cosmic occurrence.

   Here, as recorded in John 3:16 (a New Testament book) is Jesus' own words, words that have completely reversed the course of human history, and the lives of countless people..

   "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

   ALL it takes on our part is to believe that we, as sinners who don't do God's will, need a Saviour, and that Jesus' death on the cross accomplished our salvation; He is our Saviour.

   If you humbly and with faith believing ask God to forgive you, and ask Jesus, the Son of God, to come into your heart and life to be your Lord, you will be born again of the Spirit, and a new name will be written down in heaven.

   Then begin daily to talk to God about your life (prayer), read the bible and find a Christ centred church to attend, so that you may "grow in the Lord."
