Nintendo is going with a new approach for thier consoles. They are trying to make handhelds and consoles that would appeal to a person who does not play video games. "The new Revolution controller is one example of our new approarch" says Nintendo's Vice-President. Nintendo is also paranoined that their competition will steal the controller and Revolution technology and design (just as they accuse Sony of doing with the D-Pad and Rumble technolohy, but seriously Nintendo, who would want something ugly, under-powered, and cheap like that. The PS3 is more innovative, and 20x more powerful! Also, if you didn't want competition stealing your presious D-Pad and Rumble, why would you just not copyright it, DUH. I also think this approach about catering to people who would "Normally be uninterested in video games" is not a good choice. Insead of trying to get lots of new customers, why not just cater to your current ones, and if you machine is good, it will pick up its own new customers. Nintendo is also going to be more "Forthcoming" with their online strategy in the future. I have one question for Nintendo "Why?". Does anyone even use your Wi-Fi connection for DS. I mean, I live in a twon of 5,500 people, and I know maybe 10 people with a DS, and maybe one has ever used the Wi-Fi connection. Funny thing though, he bought a PSP right after he bought a DS, his very next paycheck, and the only reason he bought a DS first is because it was cheaper. Nintendo is so very far in the online gaming community. PS2 launched it all, and Xbox kind of dominated that part of the last console war. But most developers are saying that PS3's online is going to blow away anyting the Xbox 360 can throw at it. That is our input about Nintendo's new "Blue-Ocean Strategy", hope you liked, and I hope if someone from Nintendo reads it, they get an actual gamers input, and learn from it!
