Dr. Robert McDonald
Professor of Social Sciences and Recreation/Sports Management, Bob McDonald has been at Southern Wesleyan University for 17 years. Prior to coming to Southern Wesleyan University, Dr. McDonald taught for three years at the University of Georgia. His other professional experiences included serving as administrator at both a treatment center of abused children and a treatment center for mentally challenged children and adults. Dr. McDonald teaches courses in Sociology, Anthropology, Research, Statistics, Recreation and Sports Management. His research interests include treatment services for abused children and leisure programs for senior citizens.
Dr. Steve Hayduk
After serving as a Salvation Army officer (i.e., as a pastor and church planter), Steve Hayduk obtained a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology (1998 - cognitive and child psychology) from McGill University, Canada. Dr. Hayduk has been at Southern Wesleyan University since 1996. His primary interest lies in the integration of Christianity and psychology. In addition, he conducts research on visual attention, and on spirituality and faith. Dr. Hayduk's non-professional interests lie in the martial arts, and in military history. He presently holds a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do from the World Tae Kwon Do Federation, and is examining the history and origins of some Tae Kwon Do forms. His interests in military history focus on Canadian military history (especially the first Canadian Infantry Division in Sicily and Italy during WWII), and the computer simulation of those actions.
