McLintocks Saloon & Dining House - page 3

The gift shop inside the restaurant. They can package steaks for travel.

Always looking for new decorations.

Carved bear announcing the hours.

In the lobby there is a menu from 1974 on display. Most items were 4.75 - 5.95. Now, most items are $16 - $24. But, remarkably, the menu hasn't changed that much in almost 30 years. The most expensive item then was two lobster tails for $8.50. The Silver Anniversary special (two tails and steak) is now $30.

Looking from the rear of the lobby. Polaroids are everywhere. Be sure to check the hall between the saloon and the restrooms. The walls are lined with awards the owners have won and even an article from the local newspaper when Clint, the carved wood cowboy out front, had two arrows shot into him.

In the lobby is a refrigerated case with real cuts of beef in it (no plastic!) so you know what they are before you sit down. There are lots of things to look at in the lobby, which is good. On a recent Memorial Day weekend, the Sunday night wait was 3 hours. Go early.

And don't forget to tell them if you celebrating a birthday or anniversary.

McLintocks also has five other restaurants in the county - F. McLintocks Saloons in Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles; Izzy Ortega's Mexican Restaurant in San Luis Obispo; and Steamers of Pismo in Pismo Beach.
