Trader Nicks
Trader Nicks was a Polynesian style restaurant one Highway 1 in Pismo Beach. Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of it was the amazing ocean views in had. It quietly closed in 1999 after over 30 years in business. It was bought by McLintocks, who gutted the building and reopened it as Steamers of Pismo.

I took these photos less than a week before Trader Nicks permanently closed.

I didn't know it would be closing, and I didn't go inside to take any photos, not wanting to disturb anyone. The interior was definitely dated. It probably could best be described as 1960s coffee shop meets the South Pacific.

Trader Nicks was next door to the Kon Tiki Inn motel.

Now McLintocks has rebuilt the old Trader Nicks.

Very different from the old building.

But the portholes remained.
