Our group believes that in the wake of the tragedies on September 11, we would be fostering more tragedy by responding with violence. We believe that violence begets violence. Though difficult, we must pursue justice through peaceful means.

We Express

A condemnation of the abominable terrorist attacks of Tuesday, September 11th.

A delaration of our deepest sympathies for the victims of the tragedy, their families, friends, and communities.

A demand of the nation's political and military leadership to seek justice rather than retibution, since revenge would add many more innocent lives to the death toll without making our wourld safe from terror.

A call to stand against racism, xenophobia, and the scapgoating of people  on the basis of race, religion, and nationality, especially innocent Muslim and Arab peoples in the U.S. and abroad.

An impassioned plea to the people of the U.S. and their servants in Government to guard our precious civil liberties (especially our freedom to organize, discuss, and act nonviolently) with vigilance, so that all of those whose lives were lost will not have died in vain.

A reiteration of our steadfast commitment to nonviolence in our efforts towards social, racial, economic, and environmental justice around the world.

A vow to redouble our effots toward true global justice, as it is humanity's only hope for a lasting worldwide peace.
