Creation
of a core group
Colin explained
his idea to create a "core" group that would handle all the
administrative business and grunt work. For example, plan meetings,
reserve loggia tables, handle finances, manage the web site, etc. The
group agreed that the creation of this group would be very effective,
as long as it did not make important decisions for the group. Colin
recommends that those who participate are willing to contribute around
two hours a week, which includes a once-a-week meeting. Those interested
were listed down. For those who are interested in working with the core
group can e-mail [email protected]
Colin will send an e-mail to those who showed interest to set up a meeting
time.
Creation
of a goal-setting meeting
Erin initiated
a conversation about establishing a meeting for those interested to
discuss the the goals of this group and possibly formalizing a common
focus. She recommended going to coffee, and that it is informal. If
you are interested in joining this meeting, e-mail [email protected]
She will set up a meeting time and place.
Action
Brainstorms (Post-Walk Out)
- Networking
with poeple in Denver, and occupying a senator's office
- organizing
a concert and speak-out, and inviting people from Boulder and Denver
- coalition
of state-wide campuses
- small
grassroots demonstrations for people to notice us
- work with
adults, and possibly setup a liaison/representative to go to the adult
meetings (at RMPJC).
- Indefinite
loggia table! Mix up locations, be extreme.
Explanation
of bombing illegality
Colin gave
a succinct explanation of why this bombing could be considered illegal.
He asserted that it violated many doctrines of international law, including
the UN Charter and international customs that are binding in an international
court. He plans on writing something up on this with work's cited and
more research. When he's done he will e-mail it to the list.
Sign-up
sheets and other announcements
- Rebecca
passed around the sign-up sheet to table the Hip-Hop Congress, which
is happening this Friday from 12-5. It should be slamming, so go go
go. If you want more information about this, e-mail [email protected]
- Eric passed
around a sign-up sheet to receive more information about going to protest
the School of Americas. If you want more information about this, e-mail
[email protected]
- If you
have any event that you think would be good on this site, e-mail [email protected]
- Members
of the group went and did chalking right after the meeting.
