"Coach" Bjorklund is the founder of the Layton Surfers. He is the reason the team continues to flow in the right direction. He takes care of most everything. He has been coaching for at least 23 years in Layton. He also coached swimming in England for a number of years for the United States Air Force. He is also the Head Coach for the Layton High School Swim Team. He was the Head Coach for both the Northridge and Davis High Swim Teams for a number of years. He also coached the Layton High Soccer Team. He led the 1992-1993 Layton High Boys Swim Team to second in State, for which he was named Co-Coach of the Year. Coach has been involved with Utah Swimming for many years in many different positions. (More info will come as soon as it comes available, and yes there is plenty more. Amazing for a twenty-one year old!)

He has also been the assistant coach for the Layton High Swim Team since the 2000-2001 season. Randy is currently the Technical Planning Chair for Utah Swimming. In August 2003, he was privileged enough to be an assistant Zones Coach for the Utah Team. He also was able to go as the Coaches' Representative as part of the Utah Delegation to the USAS Convention.

Kristine Dukes started coaching with the Layton Surfers in July 2001. She swam competitively on the Layton Surfers for ten years and swam for Layton High School four years. During her swim career, she excelled in the butterfly, taking second in state her junior year of High School. She also helped her senior year 400 freestyle relay team earn a Consideration All-American time. She started her own team, the Hill Flyers, at Hill Air Force Base. This team was succesful until the base commander shut them down. She and the team then merged their team with the Layton Surfers, where she has been ever since. She is married to Josh Dukes (who is also a swim coach) and has two girls, MyKala Kristine and Piper Michelle.
