Wow!!! We won our first game. Good job boys. That is why we practice so hard in the heat. We still need to work on a few things. See you at practice on Tuesday.
Thursday practice will be a scrimmage against Hawkeyes.

Helmet stickers will be handed out on Tuesday night. So to answer the questions of "What's that mean?" I have provided a list below:
Big Win = A Win
A football w/ a T on it = Tackle
A football w/ an O on it = Player helped team score a touchdown (on field when Offence scores a TD)
A football w/ a D on it = Player helped team score a touchdown (on field when Defense scores a TD)
Skull & Crossbones = Big play (turnover, Tackle for loss, sack)
Footballs = milestone has been reached (every 50 yards rushing, passing receiving)
TD = player who scores TD (If pass both QB and receiver will get one)

We had a great turn out for Bantam Football Night. We had the most kids show up. Thank you. Most of us left at halftime, but Whiteland ended up winning the game 35-14. I hope to see everyone at the picnic at 11:00 am.

I hope that everyone had a great time at our picnic. We were blessed with good weather. I do hope that everyone got enough to eat. I had fun and enjoyed the time spent with each of you in a non-football environment. I think that we have an outstanding group of parents and it shows on the football field. The positive suport each of you give our team only makes the team and our boys that much better on the football field. Continue to show that support come this Wed night as we play Northwestern. They are looking for their first win of the season so it will be a hard fought game. Bring your noise makers, your team colors and pleanty of team pride as we go for our second win of the season. Hope to see all there, GO ILLINI!

9-15-07
We are now the last undefeated team in the RL. Great job. Indiana lost 21-20 today to Purdue in a hard faught game. Our game was a hard faught game. We have things to work on that will be addressed in practice on Monday. Do not be surprised if changes are made to some positions. We have to play better. We were less than a yard away from being beat. Iowa played a great game and almost pulled it out. Practice this upcioming week is on Monday and Thursday with games on Wed (Michigan) and Sat (Indiana). Rest on our off days and make sure that Friday night you get to bed early due to our early morning game slot. GO ILLINI!!!!

4-0 boys. Great job. These wins are 100% you and your abilities. Continue the good work. Work harder in practice so that the games won't be so hard. This Saturday, we have IU. They are a tough team and we will need to be focused. Go to bed early Friday night, and get up early enough to be awake when the game starts. I will see all of ya'll tonight for a tough practice.

Well boys we have had our first loss. Now we go back to practice, practice hard, and correct our mistakes that were made in the game. Tuesdays practice we will be going back to the fundamentals. BLOCKING and TACKLING. We did not block every play, some of us did not block hardly ever. Tackling, we missed 6 tackles in 2 plays, one that lead to a touchdown for the Hoosiers.
With all of that said, the ship is not sinking. We put up 3 touchdowns on a good team. We need to make sure that when we score touchdowns, we convert our extra points. We need to run hard EVERYTIME!!!! Find the lane and turn it up field towards the endzone. I'm still proud of everyone of you, and I know that we can improve on these areas and do better in our next matchup versus the Buckeyes.

That was a close game boys. 21-20 in overtime. They say that good teams find a way to win in the close games. We are now 2-1 in games decided by a touchdown or less. We need to work on keeping high intensity for the entire game. We loose our fire after a few drives. We must maintain and get more fired up during the game.
The last play of the game was great. The fake was good, the blocking was good and that made the result good. That was the biggest 1 point we had all year. Great job.
October 1st there is a skating party in Franklin from 6:00 to 8:00. Hope that all can attend. If not I will see you on Tuesdays practice.

We have started the step of champions by winning our first playoff game. We have two more games to go and it is up to each one of you as players to make it successful. All of the coaching and learning needs to be demonstrated on the field. Play hard, Attack and we will do good. We will be playing an improved Purdue team at 1:30 on Saturday. Do not let the first game score of 18-6 predetermine how hard you play. This is the team that beat Indiana (who we lost to). Be ready to practice hard this week. Remember that practice is Monday and Wed this week. Be there, and be ready to work.

This weekend was a tough game. We came away with our 8th victory. Good job. 8 wins is a great season for any team.
I'll see you at the end of year party. I have the GBFL awards and a special something for everyone on the team. Please be there and if you can't be there please find an alternative ride for your child so that they can get their prizes. Also at the party, the candy prizes will be given out. ******Our leading candy seller was Ethan Fisher******
Parents, this was a great season not only because of our boys, but because of the parents as well. No youth sports team will be successful unless the parent by into the system. Thank you all for the help.
