| ABOUT SHARON DAVIS.................... I have been Country dancing since 1989 and started teaching in April 1990 when the manager of Stony Ridge Inn in Toledo, Ohio asked me to teach line dancing for their patrons where I taught for over 12 years until June 2002.. The enjoyment of seeing people of all ages learn to do Country and Non-Country dances is my biggest reward and I am glad I am able to share this with them. I believe in having fun when you learn and that you learn faster if you are having fun. Many good friends have been made through the years from the classes I have taught in many different towns. I have taught in such towns as Toledo, Port Clinton, Catawaba Island, Defiance, Fremont, Clyde, Oak Harbor, Gibsonburg, Findlay and Tiffin, all in Ohio. I have also taught at the Michigan-Ohio Kountry Kicker's club dances and workshops held in Ida, Michigan. Thru the years I have taken demo groups of dancers to Nursing Homes, Street Fairs, County Fairs and the Dance Team Showdown in Ft. Wayne, Indiana for choreography competions. I have choreographed several dances during the years and it gives me great pride when I see a group of dancers dancing my dances. A list of the dances I have choreographed are on the Choreography Page if you would like to look at them or make a copy of them. As Paul Harvey would say, PAGE 2-Here we go again! In January 2008 one of my students from years back called and said there were new owners at Stoney Ridge and she and some friends were going there dancing and asked if they could have classes if they could find an instructor. My first reaction was that I couldn't do it since I had had a knee replacement and also have breathing troubles. So I gave her a friends name to call. After talking to her I decided to try teaching, the worst that could happen is that I wouldn't be able to do it. Well, here it is two months later and we have 2 classes a week. and I am loving getting back to teaching, meeting new friends, re-uniting with old friends and everything about Line dancing. How Long will it last (or me) this time? |
