OLD STUFF
These are some of the first videos I made.
They don't really compliment my skills.
But they're still kinda entertaining.
CAUGHT ON TAPE PROJECT - (1-2 min.) Funny story about this one. It was an assignment for my Video Production class to do a conversational scene, and originally we were going to do a Back to the Future thing, but then we saw this couple making out at the top of some stairs, so we decided to film them for a while. As the guy walked away, he stuck his finger up his butt, we all had a good laugh, and I thought it would be funny to follow the girl and show her the footage, but after following her down a few hallways, and not being able to find her, we decided that maybe it wasn't a good idea after all...until this weird looking guy came up to us and said, "what are you doing, trying to interview someone?" We decided there was no harm in showing him the tape and giving him a good laugh, but just then the girl that we caught on tape came out of the bathroom and hugged the weird looking guy. They knew eachother! What are the friggin' chances, huh? They whispered a few things back and forth and the girl came up to us and yelled about how pissed she was, and that we better not show it to anyone, and that she can sue us, and all that kind of bullshit...so I wrote a script around the footage we captured of the girl and her ass picking boyfriend, then showed it to my entire class. THAT'LL TEACH YA!
BOWLING ALLEY - (too long to be funny all the way through) This was me and my friend Donald in front of the only bowling alley in our city, which closed down. Me and him had been on a bowling team together when I was in junior high. We made this in high school, though. We basically were just telling some fictional story about why it was shut down, and why we were sad about it. It was funny at the time...and only to us...now it's neither. During it, you hear someone honking, and I give a half assed wave of some sort. The guy who honked turned out to be the same guy who pulled a shotgun on me when I was in 7th grade. I got him arrested and he beat the shit of me when he saw me walking home at night the year after, when I had detention in 8th grade. Fucker! In my first year of college, me and some friends went back to the bowling alley and crawled in through a broken window...it was awesome, bowling balls EVERYWHERE. When we came out, the cops were waiting out in the parking lot and almost arrested us for breaking and entering. I think we got out of it because one of my friends started to cry in fear. Hahaha, that was classic.
THE 187 TREE - (less than a min.) This sketch is about a haunted tree at the park across the street from my house. It was made because several years ago, in real life, a woman was stabbed to death at that tree. I thought it would be funny to make a sketch out of it. Originally, I wasn't going to keep the footage I had shot, but something supernatural happened while I was editing the film, and I got more stuff on tape than I thought I did. Everytime I show people this sketch, after telling them the full story of what happened on the night of editing, they get frightened. Even though it was meant to make people laugh, at first, the disturbing shot was really the only reason I decided not to tape over it.
RECKLESS DRIVING PSA - (about a min.) A public service announcement about reckless driving. It includes scenes from Toonces the Driving Cat, where the car keeps going over a cliff, so it's certainly not wreckless. Eh? Eh? Ha ha. Yeah, I hate puns, too.
VENDING MACHINE MAN - (about a min.)This one's about a man who lives between two vending machines. It's done like an interview. My friend, Donald, plays the vending machine man. I interview him, then he gives me a soda.
MILITARY SPOON CORPS. - (about a min.) Donald plays Major McShrimpton, who talks to the camera about the exciting world of spoon warfare. The launching of an SR-28 SPORK is demonstrated.
BRITISH LIZARD SHOW - (1-2 min.) British lizard hunter, Chris Kollgaard, takes us on an adventure to capture the Mega-Sore-Ass, a tiny, rare, gay dinosaur, that was thought to be extinct.
BOB GOES TO THE STORE - (about 2 min.) Bob the Scientist, now in video form. It's a bunch of drawings of Bob, with someone doing a voiceover narration about Bob going to the store.
EYECAM - A closeup of my own eye for about a minute. Actually, I use the eyecam in a lot of my projects. There's an eyecam in every one of my Lego man music videos.
THE ADVENTURES OF A LITTLE BLACK BOY - (1-2 min.) A few experimental sketches, starring a 13 year old black kid I met in Los Angeles.
HAPPY PROJECT - (1-2 min.) About as happy as a manic depressive can get. Also known as the schizophrenic project.
ROCK YOUR FACE - (about a min.) I get hit in the face with a rock in this one.
