| Author: Reena Email: [email protected] Rating: uh, average, PG15 Lunch time had arrived at West Roswell High. Alex was looking for Max, to relate to him the news he had entertainingly received from Isabel. Tess was seeking Maria out, ready to hear about how to torture her clueless boyfriend, Kyle. Michael just wanted to drag Maria into the unoccupied Eraser Room again. Liz was with Isabel, already at the lunchtime table. And Kyle was on a mission. Operation: "Have a Chat With Maria DeLuca." "Hey, guys. Where's Maria?" "Oh, I haven't seen her yet." "Try the Eraser Room." "What?! Oh, she better not be with Michael again. I need advice." "Tess, no you don't. Trust me. Give Maria an inch-" "And she'll pull 1000 miles out of you." "Hey Alex." "Hel-lo ladies. Hel-lo gorgeous." "Hey." "Yeah, so how long were you two in the Eraser Room? You weren't in trig, Isabel." "Tess, Tess. We were in there-" "Long enough. Turns out I'm frisky." "What?" "You didn't need to share that with everyone." "Why not?" "Well, uh..." "Frisky? I'm impressed Isabel." "Thank you. Of course, I'm only frisky after I hang out with Maria, right Alex?" Three laughs were heard at the table. And an embarrassed groan. "What's so funny?" "Nothing." "Alex thinks your girlfriend makes me frisky." "Uh, Iz. Too much information. Speaking of frisky..." "Haven't seen her." "Liz?" "Not since third." "Where is she?" "Where's who?" "Maria." "Haven't seen her since fourth." Alex Whitman did a mental count. Two members of the group were missing. "Uh, guys...where's Kyle?" "I don't know." "Uh oh." "This is not good." "Great, now I'm going to go have to rescue Valenti from my own girlfriend." "Michael, we don't know that she's with Kyle." "Right, Liz. The guy is on a mission about some stupid thing he did that got him on probation." "Ah, yes, gentleman. The bra issue." "The bra issue?" Max Evans looks around the table, realizing he is the only one not clued in to Kyle's blunder. "Yeah." "Valenti made some dumb comment that I wouldn't have even made. That's how he learned about probation." "If you won't have made it...it must be bad. So what did he do?" All heads turned to the person who put Kyle Valenti on probation. "He told me that I had a bra like Liz's." Max Evans had made an error. He decided to take a drink from his soda before hearing the answer. Bad idea. Soda went everywhere. "Geez!" "Gross!" "Eww!" "Max!" "Smooth." "Maxwell, it was just a bra comment..." "About my girlfriend." "Grow up Max. That was like, so five years ago." "Yeah. He didn't even know what he had said wrong." "Guys, Kyle's just-" "Incredibly stupid." "That's not what I was going to say..." "What were you going to say?" "A little clueless, that's all." "A 'little' clueless? Try 'a lot' clueless." "You okay there, Maxwell?" "Yeah, sure, I'm fine." "Max. If Liz can get over the comment, then you can get over the comment." "You might want to listen to your sister there, 'Fearless.'" "Okay guys. Enough about the comment." "Yeah, we have bigger problems to solve. Like where Maria is." "Tess, I'm serious here. Don't ask her about 'the dog house.'" "Yeah, don't. When Hurricane gets an idea in her head...it could spread." "What are you talking about Whitman?" "You're gonna need to watch out. That's what I'm talking about." "Alex, honey, clue the rest of us in." "If she starts talking about 'the dog house,' you're next Michael." "And why would that be?" "She'll want to put it into practice." "Why? Michael didn't screw up. My stupid boyfriend did." "Yes, Tess, but this is Hurricane DeLuca we're talking about." "So?" "Alex, Maria isn't going to be putting Michael in 'the dog house."" "Not today, Liz. It's a Monday. But tomorrow is Tuesday..." "And?" "Do I have to explain your girlfriend to you?" "Yeah, I guess so." "Michael, god. Maria will take pleasure out of torturing you. I'll even be recruited to help. You know, hair, make-up, details like that." "Max...are you okay?" "No, my stupid brother is still stewing over that comment." "I am not Isabel." "You are!" "No, Tess, I'm not." "Oh, really, Maxwell? Then do tell us what you're thinking about..." "I'm, uh, thinking about the fact that, um, Kyle nor Maria are here..." "Sure you are." "But, guys, that does bring up an interesting point..." "What Alex?" "The fact that Michael is going to have to rescue Kyle from Maria." "No, he doesn't. I say, let her at him." "Tess!" "Liz!" "You guys, this is like, so lame. Kyle's probably with some coach and Maria..." "Yes?" "Maria's probably in the..." "Go on, Liz." "She's probably in the, uh..." "Face it, Liz. Maria's with Kyle." "Like I said. Let her at him." "Like Kyle stands a chance against Hurricane." "That's my girl." "Whoa, Michael. Was that pride I heard?" "Why yes, Isabel, it was." "Michael, go find Maria." "Why Maxwell?" "Because I don't feel like hearing her talk about it all throughout Chemistry, if that's what's going on." "Like she wouldn't anyways." "Max's right. Just go find her, okay Michael?" "Fine. But if I get on probation for upsetting her tirade, I'm coming after you Liz..." And so a grumbling Michael went off to find his Maria. "Do you really think she's with Kyle?" "Oh, I know she is." "Isabel?" "Yes?" "Something you aren't telling the rest of us?" "Oh, just that I saw Kyle pull her into the Eraser Room..." "So why didn't you say anything?" "Because Kyle trying to yell at Maria...that's funny..." "I'd have to agree with my girl there. The boy just doesn't stand a chance." "Isabel! You should have said something!" "Why? I'm the one who's mad at him. Like I said, let her at him." Liz Parker, the group peacemaker, just groaned. And Max Evans was still silently stewing over something. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ |
