This is a defensive formation which should be used when playing for a draw or if you have the lead on aggregate. Two defensive midfielders are used as well as two wing-backs.

This is a very attacking formation which should be used if you feel you have a stronger team than the opposition.  There are two wingers and an attackng midfielder.

This is a very unusual formation and is rarely used.The two central midfielders need to use the wings and one midfielder supports defense whilst the other supports the strikers.

This is an attacking formation which uses two wingers and only two midfielders.  The two central midfielders should be defensive to accomodate the attacing elements in the team.  This team is very dangerous but does conceed a lot of goals.

This is a useful formation to use when going on the attack.  If the other team has a strong midfield do not use it as they will rip you to shreads. Two of the central midfielders drift out to the wings to offer more support in attack.

This is a good formation to use at any time.  It uses a good midfield which can support the two forwards and create plenty of goals.  However with only one striker the team may not score all the goals so include midfielders with good shooting attributes.
