MENC OFFICERS

President: Robbie Poteete

Robbie Poteete is from Bean Station, Tennessee, and is a Senior in Music Education. While at UT, Robbie

has played in the UT Concert Band, Symphonic Band, & Wind Ensemble along with the “Pride of the Southland”

Marching Band. For MENC, Robbie has served as Vice President-President Elect and this year President.

MENC has allowed him to come in contact with professionals already in the field and helped build his leadership

skills.

Vice President-President Elect: Josh Squire

Joshua Squire is from Corryton, Tennessee and is a junior in Music Education. He plays French horn as a member

of the Symphonic Band, the Symphony Orchestra, Men’s Basketball Pep Band, and the "Pride of the Southland"

Marching Band. He is currently the Vice President-President Elect of MENC this year.

Secretary: Lindsay Berney

Lindsay Berney is from Woodbridge, Virginia and is a junior in music education. She plays trumpet as a member

of the UT Wind Ensemble, the “Pride of the Southland” Marching Band, and Women's Basketball Pep Band.

In MENC, Lindsay has held the position of treasurer and is currently serving as secretary.

Treasurer: Connie Steigenga

Connie Steigenga is from New Orleans, LA and is a Graduate Assisstant in Music Education. She also works part

time in the George F. DeVine Music Library as a Student Library Assistant. Mrs. Steigenga holds a B.M.E. from

the University of Southern Mississippi, and is currently working on a M.M. degree. She plays Bassoon and

Contrabassoon in the UT Wind Ensemble under the direction of Gary Sousa, and has played with the UT Symphony

Orchestra, Knoxville Symphony, Kingsport Symphony: Symphony of the Mountains, Mobile Symphony and Gulf

Coast Symphony.

Webmaster: Stephanie Walker

Stephanie Walker is from Corryton, Tennessee, and is a Senior in Music Education. She also works for the

University of Tennessee where she is a Graphic Assistant at UCopy201. She has been a member of the

“Pride of the Southland” Marching and Pep Bands, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band. She is also a member

of the Gamma Rho Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity for Women where she has held the position

of Corresponding Secretary.
