Thornless Berry Farm

Main Content

Welcome to our farm

Blackberries are fantastic, but they're also somewhat rare to find in a store-because they're difficult to pick, they're small, and the plants are covered in thorns.

Luckily, the University of Arkansas has developed several types of thornless blackberry plants that have large berries. We grow two different types of thornless blackberries, and the berries are easy to pick, no thorns, and they're large. Very large. A first time berry picker can easily get a gallon of blackberries in fifteen minutes.

Blackberries come in three flavors, basically, depending on how ripe they are. If the berry is mostly black but has some red parts, it's going to be very tart and not very sweet. If the berry is all black and shiny, it's going to be pretty tart and not so much sweet. If the berry is a dull black and soft, it's going to be all sweet.

Pick the ones you like best!
