Students become a part of the Juvenile Justice System when either the court decrees such placement, or the school district's DAEP (Discipline Alternative Education Program) is no longer an appropriate setting for the student. There are similarities between DAEPs and JJAEPs (Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Programs), and some significant differences. Here are some sites and resources for information about JJAEPs.
