Fundraising This success can be attributed to hard work from all members of the squash team and to the generous financial support of donors. This support allowed us to travel to our matches. There were also several improvements in the squash program. Northwestern converted a racquetball court to an international squash court, and thus we now have three international courts and one American court. We also improved the practice schedule for the students having all four courts available twice a week during the normal 4-7 pm athletic time period. We had a number of squash matches against local squash clubs, something we hope to do again in the coming year. Finally, Prof. Mark Johnson completed his first full year as our coach, and will be available to coach us in the coming year. Our budget last year was quite high due to the high cost of travelling. Most competitive squash programs in the United States are on the East Coast or in New York State. We do not have enough squash courts at Northwestern to have any of these schools travel to play us at home, and thus, all of our competitive matches are away competitions. Fund raising was quite successful last year and contributed significantly to the budget. However, each year we must look for continued generousity, so as maintain a consistent and high-caliber level of funding. Along with private donations, needed funds are raised through stadium clean-ups and a collection of dues from the players on the team. If you wish to help us meet with our fundraising goals for this coming year checks may be made payable to "Northwestern Undergraduate Squash", and mailed to: Prof. Mark Johnson With your help, we will be able to represent Northwestern in intercollegiate
play and bring a new level of energy and excitement to squash at Northwestern.
