Topic: News Section. Background: A lot of people feel that the News section of the clubsite is mis-named. They propose "Resources," "Backroom," something other than News simply because most founders want more control, more ability to customize this page rather than present the latest sports, news, weather, entertainment briefs, and stock quotes. Others find the fact that Yahoo! seems to support only U.S. News a serious drawback. Please make sure you enter reference as "News / specific topic" in e-mail sent to [email protected]. NEWS SECTION NO NEWS SECTION: For some little time now clubs exist also in many of the following Local Yahoo sites: Europe: Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, UK & Ireland Asia Pacific: Asia, Australia & NZ, China, Chinese, HK, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan Americas: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Spanish Why is no News Section in these Local Yahoo! Clubs?     Currently we run all of our international Clubs versions off of the US servers. This means that we can easily pull of local information for US News events off the local servers, but we have no way of pulling individual Intl news events of their servers. Once we start to localize Clubs servers in each individual country, you will start to see the News feature in Intl Clubs. No timetable on this as of yet though.   CUSTOMIZE NEWS: Founders should definitely be allowed to customize the news section, and I'm not just talking about using whatever is currently available. I mean they should be able to put in their own news, or at least get news from many various websites.     We currently allow you to use any module from My! Yahoo. Unfortunately, technical limitations prevent us from allowing you to add stuff from anywhere on the web.
