Topic: Appearance.

Background: The ability to customize the appearance of our clubs--to add color, background, textural inforamtion in various font styles, etc.--is something many founders are concerned with having. These may seem purely cosmetic changes, but they translate into the ability to create a more attractive presentation or add interest to our clubs.

CLUB APPEARANCE: BACKGROUND AND TEXT COLORS, THEMES

COLOR CHANGE:  Club color change is dependant on My Yahoo! (as you may have noticed the stunning resemblance between their color change option and the club's color change feature. When My Yahoo! offers text color change and background changes, Clubs will as well.

FONT COLOR: My next area of concern is that with color change available to us now, we need a coresponding font color change feature in each section of the club to provide contrast. What's the chances of getting that, Warren?
I think I answered this one earlier. Yes, we will have this, along with background images. Since we use the My Yahoo customization scheme for Clubs, once they have this option, we'll roll it out as well.

LAYOUT: Warren made the experience himself in this club: founders need sometimes more room for a good FOUNDER'S MESSAGE.
Increasing the length of the text is one thing - what I would like to propose is an enlargement of this column. Many clubs do it with a workaround.
We're currently working on ways to allow users to customize the front page of their club, and all these suggetions are part of that. More details to come as we nail down the specifics for making this work. Hang in there!

FOUNDER'S MESSAGE: I have to disagree with you on this. I think a wider founders message column would make the clubs look to bulky. I really dislike the clubs that force a larger width. Instead, I propose making it all bold, and make it the very first thing people are allowed to read when they join the club for the first time (when they click on a message to read, it pops up the founders message first).
All bold? Really? Hmmm... not my personal preference, but the idea on our end is to allow you to add bold, italics, etc. to your message, so if you want all bold you can have it. Again, i'll let you all know more as we figure out the exact scheme for this.

CUSTOMIZING: There is so much free space under the Stats. I was thinking we should either make the message board longer or add something new in that area. Some large and busy clubs have busy message boards and they fill up easily. Why waste all that space?
This isn't always the case... it depends on how large you make your founder's message. But we're working on ways to allow you to customize your front page to your liking.

MODERN LOOK: A more modern look wouldn't hurt either. Yahoo! has always had that boring look. With boring colours. I'd say we spice up our clubs with some modern graphics, navigation, ect.
I agree... we're going to make the merged product look more "modern" for sure. It won't be too crazy though... the emphasis is still on loading the pages quickly, but you will notice a more appealing UI design.
