Clovelly were unable to pull off a third
victory over Barnstaple AAC this season and had to settle for a draw
as Shaun Wilson was sent off in the second half. Before Wilson was
dismissed for a two footed lunge, Clovelly perhaps should have been in
front and came closest to scoring when Darren Willcocks' strike came
back of the post. Barnstaple pressured Clovelly in the last 30 minutes

An excellent performance and a valuable
three points for Clovelly as they look to climb away from the
relegation positions at the foot of the Premier Division. It wasn't
without incident though as Daniel Slee, Darren Willcocks and a
Barnstaple player ended up in A&E before the end. Substitute Jamie
Robertson gave Clovelly a first half lead but Barnstaple were level
before the break. However a second half brace for Robin Kearney as
well as goals from Edward Johns and Matt Hewis ensured there was no
way back for Barnstaple. Clovelly put forward a hard working
performance but it wasn't enough to prevent them slipping to a four goal
defeat at the hands of Braunton. Clovelly managed to fend off Braunton in
the first half with a battling display but came in a goal down at the
break. A fortuitous second Braunton goal meant the end for Clovelly and

The trip to Morwenstow was always going to
be a difficult one but Clovelly showed great spirit in giving the
champions a run for their money. Morwenstow as expected had most of
the ball early on and took the lead but Robin Kearney pounced to
equalise soon after. Clovelly weren't level long though as Morwenstow
restored their advantage to lead 2-1 at half time. Morwenstow made it
three early in the second half with a super free kick. Morwenstow were
not taking their chances in front of goal though and began to look
shaky as Marten Stanbury pulled Clovelly back into the game.
Clovelly's revival didn't last long as Morwenstow hit the net three

An early season visit from champions
Morwenstow ended in defeat for Clovelly but the home team certainly
made Morwenstow work for their victory. Clovelly fell behind to an
unfortunate own goal but only a goal line clearance prevented them
from being level just before the break. To add insult to injury
Morwenstow added a slightly fortunate second to lead 2-0 at half time.
Morwenstow enjoyed a lot of possession in the second half and found
the net twice more before Matt Ross netted a consolation for Clovelly
