Subject:   From "Zona" To "Zoffa"

On 9 December 2008 when I was going to Cinere Mal, I found some shirts at sale, half the ordinary price. I immediately bought one, mostly because of its half than usual price.

A few weeks ago on 19 November 2008, my friends at Gemilang 77, the alumni of year 1977 of my senior high school SMAN 3, received an invitation from other year’s alumni about a chance of becoming audiences at a TV program "Zona 80" at Metro TV. It would be a recorded program that later on would be televised on the New Year’s Eve program. "Zona 80" is a program of nostalgia of the eighties; therefore the audiences are mostly from alumni of senior high schools of the seventies and eighties.

The number of audiences would be around 400 from various years of alumni of SMAN 3, and the shooting was first planned to be on 30 November 2008, but then delayed to 14 December 2008.

Since the beginning I was in doubt about participating as an audience, because the program’s name "Zona 80" is like having the meaning of "the zone to zero the eight" , while "eight" is the house number of my friend Theo at Sukabumi street, whereas Theo is an Indonesian with a Jewish mother.

On 9 December 2008 when I was going to Cinere Mal, I found some shirts at sale, half the ordinary price. Among them were light brick red sport shirts, and it was fit with the requirement for the participants of Zona 80 whereas each of them was required to wear bright color since it would be for the New Year’s Eve program. I immediately bought one, mostly because of its half than usual price.

Regarding the program’s name, "Zona 80", I have my own interpretation.

"Zona" is like " Z A " with " on " in the middle. Usually " Z A " is about alphabet, of " A to Z ", except it is written backward. And the letters that is written backward is, among others, Arabic letters, which is written from right to left, unlike Latin letters which is from let to right. And it is relevant with Rahma Sarita whose origin is an Arab. While "on" is like in the electric switch of "on" and "off" , whereas "on" is also like having the meaning of "live", while "off" is like having the meaning of "die".

Therefore the meaning of "Zona" is like the "on" is entering the Arab Rahma.

So by participating in the program of "Zona 80" is to remind me that my entering to Rahma should not with the target of keep "on", keep living, instead it should be still with my consent to meet the end of my life soon, to move to the eternity. Not entering for "on" but for "off".

In other words, from "Zona" to "Zoffa", whereas "Zoffa" sounds like "sofa". And it is in accordance with my Fourth "Dream Comes True", About Blue Denim In Two Movies whereas in that dream I was meeting Rahma after she finally agreed to meet me in person, she was wearing blue-denim dress, and the meeting took place in some kind of living room with couch, then we had a conversation in a sofa. Later on it was strengthen with F/A 18 D Crashed At San Diego in which the map of Marine Corps Air Station in Miramar looks like a posture of a woman leaning forward on a sofa.

So by attending the program of "Zone 80" at Metro TV, I was hoping that it would be followed by my meeting Rahma somewhere, since Metro TV was her former office, with a conversation while sitting in a sofa. Therefore it will be "From Zona To Zoffa", which of course the "Zoffa" is no longer containing "80".

After I purchased the bright brick red sport shirt at half price on 9 December 2008, came the news on TV about Romania had chosen a new Prime Minister, and the name is Theodor Stolojan. His first name reminds me to my old friend Theo, an Indonesian with Jewish mother, who lives at a house number eight at Sukabumi street. As if it was to remind me about "Zona 80" which is like having the meaning of "the zone to zero the eight".

Therefore, I should refer to "From ‘Zona’ To ‘Zoffa’ ", whereas "Zoffa" has no more "80" attach to it.
